    KM1000 Kentucky Professional Mandolin

This is the best news in years for all serious mandolinists. Our new customers who have never seen the KM-1000 will simply not believe the value! All of the outstanding features of the original vintage instruments (which now sell for $40,000) are reproduced with Saga's characteristic attention to detail, along with some improvements and distinctive Saga touches. The intricate, pearl and abalone peghead inlay alone will sell this beautiful new KM-1000. It is an incredibly complex design, made possible for the first time by Saga engineers. The flowerpot design is copied directly from a 15th century mosiaic design on the Ulg Beg Madiassah in Bokhara, Uzbekistan. Saga's founder and president, Richard Keldsen, saw the design on the Madrassah wall on an Asian business trip and knew immediately he would translate it into a hallmark design on this new flagship mandolin. • Hand-carved, select spruce top • Hand-carved flamed maple back with matching neck and sides • Ebony fingerboard with pearl position dots • Sunburst finish • Intricate pearl and abalone peghead inlay • Adjustable ebony bridge with original type thumbscrews • Quality silver-plated tuning machines and tailpiece.
